South Cotswolds Wedding Show

Just a quick one to say I'm at South Cotswolds Wedding Show today at the Manor House golf club in Castle Coombe. Come along to see my designs in the flesh (as it were!) and to try some yummy cake Jx

Spring has sprung!

This weekend spring really has finally sprung.Even the tad poles that my boyfriend and I rescued from a puddle in a field have hatched!

Apart form that I finally got to make a wedding cake last week that I been looking forward to for a while now. When my customer Katy asked me to make my filigree wedding cake but with a lemon yellow twist, I knew it would look lovely. I love to do filigree piping, I find it strangely really relaxing and love to do lots of random swirls and little flowers. Although it does tend to make your hand ache by the end of it!

Katy also wanted some cookie favours and was open to ideas on the design. She was having a lemon yellow and white theme for her wedding, so I knew daisies would be perfect.  I was really happy with the end result. With pretty yellow ribbons and ivory name tags tied around each bag. They made the perfect place setting.

The Bath Wedding show

I exhibited at the Mercure Bath Francis Hotel today-what a wonderful if not slightly exhausting day. I met some lovely people and had so many fantastic complements about my cakes (head slightly bulging!).

I have to say beautiful venue -sadly I don't have a ring though! The staff were great and the location is fantastic, in the heart of the city, a grand Georgian building in Queens square.

The Bath Wedding show

I had a phone call yesterday from wow wedding shows who I regularly exhibit with -could I do The Bath Wedding show on Sunday! eek I thought only a few days to prepare, what with my new business cards on order I would have to sweet talk the printers into rushing the order through. Also without any cakes prepared- as the shows that I already had booked were at the end of the month or in March. Would I have time?

Well the printers Salisbury Printing came up trumps, the business cards will be ready tomorrow yeay, so I thought what the heck I may as well go for it. I have worked all day on a new wedding cake with vintage english garden inspriation -old fashioned roses adorning the top and pretty piping side design- pics to follow soon.

Tomorrow I will be making some individual mini cakes,  as I fancy a change from cupcakes. Then another wedding cake and the tasting samples to do Sat, so hopefully fingers crossed every thing will be ready for Sunday!....zzzzz.....J x
